A Wakefield Project is a interesting horror movie about two friends, Reese (Dennis Andres) and Eric (Anthony Bewlz), buying a bread and breakfast to try and fix it up and make a living in a small town that they recently moved to, Wakefield itself. Chloe (Lindsey Seim) is a medium who is called to help with investigating the strange occurrences that keeps alarming them, as the movie continues and grows.

So here’s the explanation in a spoilery nutshell – the dead have a 24-hour window to rise and re-appear and start killing people because of multiple solar flares that happen and interrupt space time, phasing the dead into the living. And of course, the previous owner of the bread and breakfast wants to continue his killing spree when he phases in.

The movie is decently written by Lindsay Seim, who also stars in the film as Chloe, also starring in other movies such as Insidious Chapter 2, For Love of Amy, and other films. This is not her first writing credits either, she has written a slew of short films as well. 

The acting is not the greatest, but it’s not terribly bad either. The movie has its good moments. I feel like the movie was semi-rushed to get it out there, though. It is a B Horror movie, at it’s best.  I think that the story is good, and would hope that there is a sequel.

The problem with the movie, is that it tries to combine many different themes of horror movies, rolled into one. It’s a good starting idea, if there was better character development, and a story to back it up. I think the movie should be re-written, and tried to shoot again, to see where it goes, even though the movie is new (released this year). I would like to see what Lindsey could do with more with her writing skills, You can currently buy this movie from amazon and other sources on DVD. It I would give it a try, although it is missing the center of the story, basically there is a beginning and an end, but no middle.
