‘The Dirt’, it seems like there is going to be a trend of movies based on musicians these days, with the release of Queen follows this movie. This movie is about Motley Crew, Nikki Six, and how the group was developed and created into the band it is.

This movie is very entertaining. There is sex, drugs, and of course all the rock and roll. We learn how Nikki Six needs to sober up for himself, and the bands sake. He learns the hard way, after being legally pronounced dead from a drug overdose. The bands’ popularity grew with hits such as Theatre of Pain, Girls, Girls, Girls, Dr Feelgood, and Shout at the Devil, which is one of my all-time favorite Motley Crew songs.

The story does start out how Nikki Sixx’s (Douglas Booth) life was growing up, and what he went through as a teenager. It also develops the other characters, who are the rest of the band members Tommy Lee (Machine Gun Kelly), and Mick Mars (Iwan Rheon).

The story tries to tell the truth the best that it can. It’s not going to be 100% perfectly accurate to what actually happened, but it comes close with the band behind the story.  I think I would have liked to see them perform more of their hit songs throughout the movie, however. 

This band, like Queen, and all other bands has their ups and downs throughout their existence, and their patience eventually pays off.  This movie probably will not win any awards but it is definitely worth a watch and has a pretty good story line, written by Tommy Lee, Mick Mars, Vince Neil, Nikki Sixx, Neil Strauss, and a screenplay by Amanda Adelson, and Rich Wilkes. If you like Motley Crew, and Nikki Six, then I suggest watching this movie for the pure entertainment fun that it delivers to the viewers.  I give it a 3 out of 5.
