Never Leave Alive also known as 3 Hours Before Dead is a budget action movie starring WWE’s John Hennigan, who plays Rick Rainsford. Anna who is played by Michelle Taylor is his companion throughout the movie. There have been many wrestlers who have turned their careers to both wrestling and movie making. Such notables such as Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, and John Cena have made blockbuster movies, and even branched out past action, into comedy and sometimes drama.
The movie is about a crazy ex-KGB agent named Zaroff (Eric Etebari) who has a partner named Ivan (Joseph Gatt) who live on an island. The ex-psychos turned full-on-psychopaths are so crazy that they play a game, the ultimate game in fact, with Rick and Anna: they need to survive on the island to try to get away from being hunted down. The fun begins and they have 3 hours to do so.
It is a classic game of survival with methods that they, both the hunters and hunted, actually know how to use. Some of the scenes can be pretty repetitive, but it is a good story. There are many terrain traps that come along the way, and Rick and Anna have to be careful where they are going and watch what they are doing.
Rick has/had/has a drinking problem, and he needs to sober up while he plays the game of survival. The CGI is rather horrible, and could have easily been improved, I thought. I think they used the money that they had for budget for the action scenes, which I do understand.
It’s a fun impact roller coaster ride that is action packed, and pretty good for a low budget film. I think that it was very well directed, and well produced. I also thought that there is a lot of room for improvements, however.
The movie is worth watching if you enjoy action films. The film is now out on VOD, and streaming, from Wild Eye Releasing. I would check it out, I enjoyed it. I think John Hennigan has potential to be in other movies, once he practices and improves his acting skills a bit more.
